Top Five Reasons to Sing Out Your Stress
When I found out I was a music therapist, the most common comment I heard was, “I wish I could sing!” or “Oh, I love to sing, but I’m not very good at singing in public”. Tell me that you said that you should just say the words because you don’t know what to say.
Singing is our birthright! Singing is a natural and pure expression of our joy in being alive, and a way to show our love for music. Here are my top 5 reasons why I sing:
1. Connect with your body: Sing with your whole body. Singing is so closely tied to breathing that singing helps us to be “in the body” and let go of the many thoughts (or worries) of the day. Helpful. Singing is a fun activity and can release endorphins (feel-good chemicals your body produces).
2. Connect with yourself: Setting meditative tunes, singing along to your favorite tunes, or just humming are all ways to tap into your inner landscape and see what’s going on there. is.
3. To connect with others: Meditation, prayer, choir, concerts, or singing with others over the phone or the internet can help us experience our true connection in a very profound way. It’s helpful.
4. Express Your Feelings: Singers, songwriters, and composers have expressed our feelings in ways we could never. It’s just for you, not “good sound”).
5. How to improve your likeability: What you focus on brings more to your life. You can choose songs that are uplifting, fun, and festive.
So let’s sing! Be proud of your unique voice. Try what works for you. Keep a journal of what your mind and body notice when you sing a particular song. Then you can choose the right song for the moment and apply the power of singing to your life.
