Modern Day Hero Steve Jobs: I Came, I Saw, I CEO

“It doesn’t matter to me to be the richest man in the cemetery. To go to bed at night saying we did something great, that’s what matters to me.” – Steve Jobs

The rapid innovation of technology in this millennium has opened the door to several new business ideas. Over the last few decades, we’ve heard and read about several start-ups founded by young individuals who are already wizards. We see them as modern-day heroes who helped shape the world we live in today. One of them is Steve Jobs. His name is already synonymous with charisma and inspiration.

He was Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder of Apple Inc., a leading manufacturer of electronic devices such as Macintosh computers (MAC), iPods, iPhones, music and video software called iTunes. Jobs is seen by many as a highly creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized his six industries. These include Personal His Computers, Animated Movies, Music, Phones, Tablet Computing, and Digital Publishing. Known as a business and sales wizard, he is credited with many electronic inventions now patented by Apple. He was also CEO of Pixar Animation Studios until it was acquired by Disney in 2006.

He was born Steven Paul Jobs in San Francisco to Joan Carroll Siebll and Syrian Abdulfatta John Jandari, but was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs. He attended Middle School in Cupertino, followed by High School at Homestead HS, also in the town of Cupertino. He spent his childhood in the South His Bay area later known as Silicon Valley. During high school, he had a summer job at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto. While attending lectures and working at HP, he met Stephen his Wozniak, who later co-founded his Apple.

Like other dot-com billionaires, Steve Jobs dropped out of college. He attended Reid His College in Portland, Oregon for about six months. When he returned to California in 1974, he began attending Homebrew his computer club meetings with his friend Wozniak. At the time, he got a job at his Atari and discovered that the popular whistle could emulate the tone he needed for long distance calls with his AT&T. This idea inspired him and persuaded Wozniak to go into business with him to create a “blue box”, a device for making free long distance calls.

He then continued to work with Wozniak on other projects, one of which was a computer Wozniak built for himself. On April 1, 1976, they founded Apple Inc., which started with printed circuit boards. Their first personal his computer was called the Apple I and sold for $666.66. Then came the Apple II, which was such a success for their business that they began selling their shares in December 1980.

In 1984, he introduced the Macintosh, which later became a huge success. It was the first personal computer with a graphical user interface (GUI) that allowed individuals to interact with items on the screen. As Apple grew further, Jobs experienced tensions with the board of directors, which led to his departure in May 1985.

In 1986, Steve Jobs founded a company called NeXT. The company is designed around aesthetic interpersonal computing. After that, I focused on software development. This company has played a major role in the development of electronic mail and the World Wide Web. In 1996, Apple bought his NeXT, returning Jobs as his CEO.

Jobs is remembered by many for his work ethic. Such traits helped develop his Apple into the highly successful company it is today. Hiring also helped the company avoid bankruptcy in his 1990s. He is also instrumental in creating iPods, iPhones, and other personal devices, as well as establishing a new electronics division. On October 5, 2011, Steve Jobs died from complications of pancreatic cancer.
