Combining Music With Bakery Products

Everyone seems to have a theme for their bakery business. And rightly so!

So why do many businesses fail?

Well let’s see what happens here.

First, many people say, “I want to start a bakery,” and then they go on to say that our bakery is going to be this or that. In some cases the additional enterprise is actually the main business structure and the bakery products are secondary.

While a music store may carry the instruments of a music business, they may also offer sheet music as well as instruction on how to play that particular instrument, in many cases ie.

To show the music as a talent, the building should be built to offer a sound quality that enhances the sound of the music that will give a perfect tone to the ear that listens to that sound.

Owning a bakery is almost the same thing. You need the bakery business to offer the best possible presentation for the baked goods you offer.

In other words where is your main avenue for profit?

A bakery is a great way to create a business. People are looking for quality baked goods that offer great eye appeal, as well as a taste that says “that was nice” before they actually taste it.

There are three things to consider in a bakery product.

1. Does the bakery product look nice

2. How much does the same bakery product cost

3. What does this bakery product taste like?

First people buy baked goods based on the appearance of that product, then they look at the price and if that price is within their ability to pay, you’ve made a sale.

Now the third aspect is manifested and everything changes from that moment.

1. Did this bakery product taste as good as it looks

2. Was the cost worth buying this bakery product

3. If one and two were right then number two above is immaterial. The price doesn’t matter and most likely you made another sale.

You can offer beverage like cold drink or tea and coffee to your bakery customers and they will get it as a free item in your bakery business.

But try to include something that a lot of people think of as noise, and I don’t mean to be rude here by calling music noise, but many older people won’t get into this business for fear of having their eardrums blown out by something they don’t like.

It has been researched time and time again, and music has a place in the shopping strategy. Next time you go to the supermarket you will understand what I mean.

Do they have music playing in the background or is it blasting in your ears.

I guarantee if it’s the later, the blast through your ears is in the last half hour of their day to get you out of the store as quickly as possible without telling you to leave. Or it’s their electronics department trying to impress one young customer with how loud the speaker can blast the sound.

Otherwise the music is like a lullaby, coaxing you to linger, mesmerizing you to purchase more of their products. Because they know that the more time you spend in their store, the more money you will throw into their coffers.

now; I do know a cafe that offers a variety of coffee and a menu of food items, such as breakfast wraps, soup and sandwiches for lunch, that does have music.

I say music follows, but they don’t have both ventures running at the same time. The main business is the coffee, tea and sandwiches around six in the morning until six at night, seven days a week, but then on Friday and Saturday nights the music starts once or twice a month.

The first owner of this business made a real attempt at combining the two but failed. A restaurant I used also offered piano music on Friday and Saturday nights and that also failed.

People have their own taste in music. People who enjoy the Beatles may not like a full harmonica orchestra. Some people love Beethoven but maybe hate Brahms and it’s exactly the same with rock and roll, jazz and country music.

If the two business buildings operate at different times of the day, week or month, then it is actually two businesses joined by the space of the building, so it becomes a question of how much space can be allowed to be used by each part of them businesses.

It will be very difficult to move the equipment in the bakery every time you want to accommodate the music business.

Today’s pub owners offer a big screen TV and some light entertainment on certain days of the week. But it’s mostly the atmosphere, or the food that brings the customers on a regular basis not the TV or the beer.

So before you combine two businesses in one space, see how these two businesses compliment each other.

Donuts and coffee, tea and scones, fruit and ice cream, bread and butter, music and cabaret.
