You Just Don’t Get It!

“You just don’t get it.” You’ve heard this before, right? Of course. We all have. In fact, not only has this phrase been most likely directed toward us, but there’s a good chance we’ve directed it toward others or at least thought of doing so. Akin to this phrase, “You just don’t get it,” is its third person plural form, “They just don’t get it.” Are we all universally ignorant that we “just don’t get it?” Aside from Dr. Albert Einstein’s quote, Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the universe, is there some other explanation to all of us “not getting it?”

Interestingly, the fact of the matter is that in one way or another “we do get it” and “we don’t get it” simultaneously. How can this be? Twentieth Saint, Charan Singh, poignantly states, We don’t see things the way they are. We see things the way we are. Therefore, other people’s viewpoints considered, we do “get it” from our perspective even though we “don’t get it” from someone else’s and vice-versa.

Given this understanding, is there a way we can determine why we see things differently from other people and they see things differently from us? Yes. Quite easily, actually. The answer lies within our numbers, those of our birth date and birth name which combine to reveal the blueprint not only of ourselves and the way we perceive the world but also of our destiny and the path each of us is to follow in life.

For example, let’s say Person A has a large amount of the number 4 in his numerology chart while Person B has a large amount of the number 5 in his. The number 4 rules things of stability, structure, order, security, rules, convention, tradition, rootedness, safety, practicality. In numerology, 4 is an earth sign. In contrast, the number 5 is a fire sign. It governs movement, freedom, exploration, non-convention, non-tradition, risk-taking, rule-breaking, adventure, speed and impracticality. When both of these people are confronted with the same idea, they will have totally different opinions about the issue at hand. After all, earth and fire are not compatible. Person A, who is ruled by the number 4 and all it represents, will see things through his 4-colored lenses while Person B, ruled by the 5 and all it represents, will see things through his 5-colored lenses. Both individuals will be correct from their own point of view and each could justifiably exclaim to the other, “You just don’t get it,” and they would both be right.

It is this knowledge of how each of us sees things through our own “numerical lenses” that allows us, if we apply this knowledge, to achieve a greater understanding of issues between us and others and hopefully manage our differences in a more harmonious way, creating balance in the relationship. This is one of the great benefits of studying numerology — the ancient science and art of numbers and its application to life. If nothing else, it certainly will help us be more patient when considering other points of view without getting upset. It will also allow us to not expect the other person to see things our way when it may be impossible for him to do so.

Summary

Each of us perceives things differently. Our personal perception is rooted in the numerical composition of our numerology charts which house a blueprint defining our perceptions. Thus, We do not see things the way they are. We see things the way our numbers are. No two people see things exactly the same. People with specific numbers in their charts will tend to agree with others who have similar numbers in their charts. People with contrasting numbers in their charts will tend to disagree with each other. This is why it’s vitally important to gain a deeper insight into life rather than living simply on the surface.

Hopefully, this new millennium, marked by the number 2 and representing the age of others and relationships, will bring this knowledge of numbers to the fore so people can understand one another more deeply and thereby improve their relationships and the quality of their lives. If an understanding of one another is not accomplished, then the disparity between people will grow wider and deeper because the energy of the 2, which governs this millennium’s duration through the year 2999, represents division, competition, and confliction in its negative aspect. However, as all coins have two sides, the positive side of the 2 energy governs teamwork, partnership, cooperation, diplomacy, equalization, balance and peace — the things most hoped and prayed for. Therefore, understanding that we each see life through our own “numerical lenses,” it will be advantageous to everyone if we pause, consider not just what the other person is saying but why, based on his numbers, he is saying what he is saying. Following this tangent, all of us may well create more positive and harmonious interactions with one another.
